Injection Misconceptions: What’s the Deal with Chin Filler?

We’re here with another installment of Injection Misconceptions, where we set the record straight for some of the most popular questions about injectable treatments! Today we’re talking about chin filler. This service can be used to enhance for a number of reasons but just like most injectables, every service isn’t for everyone. Stay with us to learn who it’s for, how we determine placement, and what to expect from the service.

Who is a good candidate for chin filler?

Chin filler is a great option for anyone looking to bring more balance to their facial features. It’s often used as part of our holistic full facial balancing approach to facial injections where not just one area of the face is treated, but rather multiple areas. This method can correct facial imbalances, add structure, and gently enhance the face while ensuring that you still look like you at the end of the process.

What features can be enhanced with chin filler?

When considering chin filler for a client, our injectors typically divide the face into horizontal thirds. If the lower third if the face is lacking in height compared to the first two thirds of the face, chin filler can be added to lengthen the face and create balanced proportions. Another way to view the face and determine the need for chin filler is to look at the side profile. If the chin appears recessed, chin filler injections can add projection that brings the chin into balance with the rest of the side profile. Chin filler can also be used to straighten the look of the jawline if there are dips on either side of the chin. Finally, chin filler can be used to reduce shadows and marionette lines created due to the amount of space between the lower lip and chin.

How long does chin filler last?

Although maintenance times aren’t exact due to the various differences in each person’s body, we find that most clients return after their first treatment within 1-2 years. Commonly, second treatments and beyond tend to last a bit longer than the first treatment did. Although some newer studies are showing that small amounts of filler still remain up to 15 years after treatment, there aren’t enough clinical studies showing that evidence yet. However, our injectors are very committed to making sure you get safe, effective results which means that we’ll tell you to come back if it's not time for your maintenance treatment!

Our goal at Coco Med Spa is to provide injectable services that enhance and balance the face while highlighting the features that make you, perfectly you. If you’re considering getting chin filler in St. Pete, we hope you’ll consider us for your service. Contact us to book a consultation today!
