How Dysport and Botox Work

Like all neurotoxins, Dysport and Botox work by blocking nerve signals and temporarily paralyzing muscles to reduce or prevent the movements and expressions that cause facial wrinkles. These can be used as a preventative measure when expression lines start to linger. They can also be used to soften existing expression lines. 

What Are the Key Differences Between Dysport and Botox?

Both Dysport and Botox use botulinum toxin type A. However, they’re formulated differently, leading to different outcomes from each neurotoxin. For example, Dysport tends to diffuse outward a bit more, whereas Botox stays more localized and concentrated. Dysport also tends to give results a little bit faster than Botox, despite having similar longevity.
