Filler Dissolving in St. Petersburg, FL: Start Fresh With Natural Results
When most people think of filler, they think of administering it or receiving it as a service. However, in some cases, injectable treatments also include dissolving filler. Filler can be dissolved for several different reasons, and it’s sometimes necessary to do so in order to achieve the holistic, balanced look that Coco Med Spa is known for.
What Is Hylenex?
Hylenex® is a brand of hyaluronidase, an injectable enzyme that targets and breaks down hyaluronic acid fillers. It’s useful in situations where a treatment needs to be corrected or, on the rare occasion, when there is a complication from filler. Hylenex only works on HA fillers, such as Juvéderm® and Restylane®. It does not dissolve non-HA products like Sculptra®.

Benefits of Dissolving Filler
Why dissolve filler, you ask? In cases where clients have been over-injected, it can cause misshapen or asymmetrical features or simply create too much volume, taking away from the overall appearance. Overfilling also leads to migration, which means that filler has moved to places it wasn’t originally supposed to be. This often happens when filler is added over time without a full-face plan. At Coco Med Spa, we prioritize a full facial balance approach that often includes telling clients when a treatment, or more of it, is not right for them. Other than in situations where a complication arises, we’re generally dissolving filler to start over from a clean slate with the right amount of filler, because we would rather turn a service away than inject more filler than is best for a specific area.
Hylenex FAQs
Q: How do I know if I need to dissolve my filler?
A: Our injectors will consult with you and advise you based on your personal symptoms and desired results.
Q: How fast does Hylenex work to dissolve filler?
A: Hylenex starts working immediately, and most clients see results within a few days. We reassess at about 1 week, and some cases may require multiple sessions.
Q: How soon can I get new filler after dissolving filler?
A: Coco Med Spa requires a 10-14 day healing period between your final appointment to dissolve filler and an appointment for new filler. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. New filler will likely need to be administered slowly, over two sessions to prevent recurring issues of migration.

Reviews We Love
“Amy is truly special, and we are lucky to have an injector of her caliber in St. Pete. Lip filler dissolving and refilling can be a painful process, but she made the experience painless and fun. Probably most importantly of all, she has a very rare artistic touch with lips that goes beyond technique — it's pure talent. As a board-certified dermatologist myself (but just a girl at heart ), who's seen and worked with injectors all over the country, she's the real deal. I'm genuinely impressed.” -Dahlia S.
