Staff Skincare Series: Amy's Skincare Routine

Updated: Nov 3, 2021

Next up in our staff skincare series, Amy takes the stage. Although our team has different needs and uses different products, you’ll definitely notice some across-the-board favorites and see that we absolutely stand by our recommended product brands.

Amy, APRN is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in aesthetic medicine. Amy began working in aesthetics in 2015 immediately after she received both her Bachelor's and Master’s in Nursing from the University of Florida. She is also an Evolus Field Trainer and has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Best Injectors in the United States in 2021.

As in our first series, we asked Amy to share her AM and PM skincare products with us. We also asked a few questions to give you an idea of her skin’s needs. These were her responses:

AM routine:

I just wash with water in the morning. My skin tends to feel dry, so I don’t strip my natural oils from my face unless it’s dirty or there’s makeup to clean off.

Apply Alto Defense Serum by Skinbetter

Apply Even Tone Correcting Serum by Skinbetter

PM routine:

Apply Alto Defense Serum by Skinbetter

Apply Even Tone Correcting Serum by Skinbetter

Apply Alpharet Overnight Cream by Skinbetter

Apply Eyemax by Skinbetter

How would you describe your skin type? Normal/Dry

What are the common concerns you treat with your skincare routine? Mild acne and hyperpigmentation.

How has your skincare routine improved your skin concerns? I’ve noticed clearer, brighter skin since being more consistent with my skincare regimen.

How long did it take to see improvements in your skin with some of your products? It took about 3 weeks of consistently using my Skinbetter Alpharet Overnight Cream to see my breakouts reduce and an improvement in my skin texture. I've only just started using my new eye cream, about 1 week now, so I'm not seeing results just yet. I'll have to update when I’ve been using it for a while.

Anything else you'd like to share about your skincare routine? I pair my at-home skincare routine with facials/dermaplaning every other month (ideally, I would get this done monthly) as well as injectables.

What do you advise others when seeking a new skincare routine? Because I'm surrounded by new products to try, my skincare routine is constantly changing as I test out new products. However, I recommend sticking to what is working well for you. If your current routine is working for you, it doesn't make sense to switch out products. If you do decide to add a new product to your skincare routine, give it time. It takes at least a month of consistency before you will notice results.

It is important to always remember that daily skincare at home is the most powerful, yet often forgotten, way to address skin concerns. Without the support of an at-home regimen, fancy spa treatments can only go so far. Feel free to contact us or stop by with any product questions that you may have. Products are available for purchase in-store or online at Coco Med Spa. We look forward to helping you build an incredible skincare routine!
