Is Sculptra Right for All Age Groups?

So you’ve heard of Sculptra, or maybe seen some incredible Sculptra results, and want to know if it’s the right service for you? We hear you and today we’re going to discuss what age groups and clients are best suited for Sculptra here at Coco Med Spa in St. Pete. Let’s get right into it!

Is Sculptra for everyone?

Truthfully, not every service is for everyone and Sculptra is one of those. However, this injectable treatment in particular tends to be really great for a few different client groups. Our philosophy is always to customize your treatment options so even if you learn that Sculptra isn’t recommended for you, we can definitely find a different treatment option to achieve the results you’re looking for.

Who is best suited for Sculptra?

Sculptra is really great for preventative care! Generally, clients in their late 30’s or early 40’s are considered to be entering the preventative stage. As signs of aging begin to appear, Sculptra is a way to combat that while maintaining an extremely natural look.

As we age, we don’t produce as much collagen as we used to. Concerns like skin laxity, temporal hollowing, and volume loss in the cheeks are good indicators that Sculptra may be a treatment option. While these signs tend to appear as aging starts to become noticeable, they are also common in people of all ages who have extremely low body fat, especially if it’s as a result of weight loss. As the face thins out, fat pads can shift and start to cause marionette lines and jowls to appear. Replacing volume with Sculptra in the cheeks and preauricular area can rejuvenate these areas and restore volume for a plump, youthful appearance.

Men Love Sculptra

Another great candidate for Sculptra tends to be men as it's a lower maintenance but effective option to add or restore volume. This is because Sculptra’s results develop over time so you can achieve youthful enhancement without looking like you’ve had “work done.”

Who Sculptra is NOT for

Before any treatment, co-owner and injector Amy Nguyen always asks, “When do you want to see results?” Sculptra is not the right option for someone coming in just before a special event as it’s not an instant gratification option where results are visible immediately. When we offer Sculptra here in St. Petersburg we always stress that it should be considered a long-term commitment. New collagen as a result of Sculptra takes at least 4-6 weeks to begin to build. Additionally, visible results don’t tend to show until about the third treatment. Finally, there is a decent amount of daily effort in the days immediately after treatment to ensure it works as it should. Sculptra treatments require that clients massage the treated area five times per day for five minutes each time. These daily massages must be done every day for the first 5 days after treatment. If you’re not a client who can stick with it, there are other services that might be a better option for you!

As with every service, our team will consult with you to make sure the best possible treatment plan is laid out for you whether or not you decide to go with Sculptra. However, if you’re ready to see if a Sculptra treatment with us here in St. Petersburg is right for you, book a consultation today!
